My spiritual name is Karuṇā Devī, and I am founder of GammaGenius and activist for the welfare of humanity. I was compelled to initiate an informative blog on meditation issues because I have experienced a wide-range of benefits that ensue from this daily ritual. Meditation has affected me in many positive and unexpected ways, and I wish to share this useful knowledge with everyone.
I have no religious affiliation, but have a healthy respect for other people's faiths. I am a spiritual person, however; and this surged from a series of deeply spiritual (energetic) phenomena I experienced personally over the years— one in connection to a "matrix" or "grid" field during prolonged meditation. Although most of the initial phases of the awakening process were led by my own inner guidance and self-driven discipline to meditate, I received the loving assistance of a Spiritual Yoga Master— H.H. Sri Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati, or Swamiji, who helped me with additional breathing techniques, guided meditations, and chakra healings. My spiritual name was given to me by him. I am eternally thankful to him for his genuine care, help, and accurate guidance.
There is growing scientific evidence of the positive impact meditation has on the human brain. It is the simplest, most effective, and the only complete tool capable of producing permanent healing, transformation, and advancement in the individual and society. It is a tool for self-empowerment; thus it provides the simple mental training any individual can acquire to become a positive force in his life and in the world. Furthermore, meditation practice on an 11-20% global population scale has the potential to solve the planetary challenges of our time.* Meditation causes fundamental changes in our awareness that benefit all of humanity.
The more people adopt meditation as a tool for their personal well-being and success— the better chances our communities have of ridding themselves of conflict and struggle in health, educational, economic, and environmental sectors, among others. To use an example: according to Florida's Department of Children and Families, in 2011 Miami-Dade County saw a significant 22.2 % increase in reports of child abuse and neglect amid economic stresses.¹ If people are empowered with meditation, not only can they self-regulate their emotions to prevent child abuse and neglect, but they can improve their awareness, cognition, and the mental flexibility needed to buoy themselves up from any seemingly hopeless situation— including financial ones.
Neurological research shows that the brain requires certain structural conditions in order to function in a non-violent manner. So, no matter how much money and effort is invested in trying to stop violence and crime or create awareness of it— it cannot be done if a person lacks the neurological connections to stop himself or herself in a moment of anger or rage in a stressful situation. Meditation gives people the tool to change their own brain structure to make better choices, perceive solutions, and pursue and reach the goals they want and lead fulfilling lives. Fulfilled people are happy people.
The mental clarity, enhanced creativity, and other positive effects sparked by the neurological changes caused by meditation can, indeed, generate success in anyone. Imagine what would happen if this habit emerged collectively— all the hidden gifts and talents that would sprout from people unaware of their inner strengths and capabilities? But the best part of meditation is that it enhances human nature, not just the brain. Meditation would create a human population master of its own perfect realization.
